Turtles IV: Turtles In Time (SNES/Arcade) - Who's Coming With Me?
You had a favorite. Everyone does. We all find the one that we relate to the most. The fearless leader. The brainiac with unmatchable wit. The hot head who is all heart. The fun-loving party animal. Leonardo, Donatello, Rafael, and Michelangelo. I always selected Leonardo. I think I have a hero complex.
The TMNT franchise has historically been one of the most popular and successful licenses in video game history. We had numerous games on various platforms, animated TV series, real-time action movies, figurines and collectibles, etc. If you were a kid in the 90's, you probably had a plastic lunch box with the turtles on it.
Of all the content that came from TMNT, Turtles in Time stands out to many as one of the most popular forms of entertainment (yours included!).
This side-scrolling beat em up has it all. With the aforementioned ability to choose your favorite turtle, you also get to travel through time, and take on Shredder and his motley crew in various level styles and playing formats. To boot, a co-op style game play allows you and a buddy to spend your whole day jump kicking and punching your way through time.
Taking on foot soldiers as they pour out of every nook and cranny is only part of the fun. Every level takes you through a different epoch of history, ending with a new boss to defeat. The turtles take on Slash, Beebop & Rocksteady, Krang and even Super Shredder. Once Shredder throws you into the space-time continuum, you are faced with prehistoric dinosaurs, scurvy pirates, mercenary cowboys, and bayou gators as you find your way back to present day.
Next time you and friend want a trip now memory lane, plug in Turtles IV, order some pizza and start button mashing. Cowabunga dudes!
